I am perverse enough to just enjoy running flower photos on an outdoor site.
But in this case there is an actual reason. The fact sunflowers are in this good of a condition will impact the opening of dove hunting on Tuesday. And dove hunting is the gist of Wednesday's outdoors column in the Sun-Times along with other notes.
