The Birmingham News is reporting that Alabama may be the next state to make bass fishing a statewide championship sport for high schoolers.
That's not surprising, considering that Alabama officials were on hand when Illinois made history as the first state to offer a statewide high school bass fishing championship on Carlyle Lake in May.
