There was no mistake about the glory fish during the perch derby at Northerly Island Saturday.

Rock bass were the most prolific catch. Elijah, 9, and Ryan Wooten, 10, hold up a pair of typical ones with their dad Brad.

The rock bass event on the lakefront will come late in July.

If you just want to take a kid fishing, parking at Northerly Island and fishing for rock bass (just about anything will catch them) is probably the best bet in Chicago.

It is SO great to see kids holding fish ! Their dad should be awarded a trophy for teaching and taking them fishing. He's taught them a sport I'm sure they will enjoy the rest of their lives and pass on to their children.
NICE JOB KIDS !
KUDOS DAD for a job well done!
