The IDNR has lifted its boating restrictions on the Fox River from the Montgomery Dam to the Stratton Dam. But also check the Fox Waterway Agency for its possible no-wake restrictions.

The IDNR release is below.

Restricted Boating Access Lifted on Fox River

SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has lifted the boating restrictions it authorized on the Fox River from the Montgomery Dam north to the Stratton Dam in Lake, McHenry and Kane Counties. IDNR officials have been monitoring the situation and believe conditions have improved to the point of reopening the river to recreational watercraft.

IDNR has authorization to designate restricted boating areas when navigation is deemed significantly hazardous. For more information about river restrictions, go to the IDNR website at www.dnr.state.il.us.
