Miller on Lake Michigan perch

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

WHITTINGTON, Ill.--While I had IDNR director Marc Miller's ear at one meal, I asked if there was any chance of getting that damm July closure on perch on Lake Michigan lifted.

I'd love to tell you he smiled and nodded in agreement, but he didn't.

Though he did offer this sliver of hope: ``I just signed off on more money for researching perch.''

That would be done by the Illinois Natural History Survey.

And filling Tom Trudeau's slot as head of the Lake Michigan Program is considered one of the critical hires. Of course, that is dependent on fee increases and the budget.
