On one of those days in March that gave us hope winter would finally end, Andrew Narro caught this 25-inch largemouth bass, weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce, 8-pound monofilament.
And it easily gets the Lemont kid Fish of the Week honors.
FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. An extended online version usually appears here by midnight Tuesday. FOTW nominations should be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here's Narro's story.
His father Larry said he was using a No. 3 Mepps while they fished a pond in Cook County.
And here's more from the justly proud dad,
``I am Andrews father and I am writing you because he so excited about the fish and I was there to land it for him and help him remove the hook, measure and weigh take a few quick pictures and release it back to the pond It came from, please consider his largemouth for next week fish of the week thank you Larry NarroP.S. I could only manage to catch a 4.5lb and two 4.0 pounders ''
Consider it done, FOTW.
