One fish matters this week around Chicago.

Canadian Dale MacNair caught and released this 57-inch muskie from the St. Lawrence River on Nov. 28.
The monster muskie with a girth of 33 inches earns Fish of the Week honors because the replica from Rick Lax Reproductions will be unveiled at the Chicago Muskie Show, which runs Friday through Sunday at Harper College in Palatine.
FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Sun-Times. An extended online version appears here, generally about midnight Tuesday. We're running behind today because of some other assignments.
More on the monster muskie:
The question is whether or not MacNair released the world record muskie. He estimated it at 68 pounds, others have suggested it topped 70 pounds.
That and other questions will be examined when the muskie historian Larry Ramsell interviews MacNair about the catch at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the Muskie Show.
