Before the floods came on the mighty Mississippi River, Kenny Campbell landed this 51-pound, 36-inch flathead with a little help. It's Fish of the Week for June 18, 2008.

FOTW tops the Midwest Fishing Report each Wednesday in the Chicago Sun-Times.

Campbell caught his flathead on May 31 while fishing with family and friends in East Dubuque, Iowa.

``It was so heavy that I had to call on my brother to help me get it into the net,'' the 40-year-old Chicagoan said. ``It was the best fight I ever had.''

He was using night crawlers on 20-pound test line.

It's the kind of photo that inspires dreams in some of us.

A catfishing friend who looked at the photo said, ``If I ever reach retirement I'm going to buy an old pontoon houseboat and live out my Mark Twain fantasies on the Mississippi River.''

I understand. And Amen.
