I discovered the trailer after I read the novel (which I loved) and I thought it was a good idea to offer potential readers a summarized plot through images. This is not the first time I've seen this and I don't think it is bizarre. There are hundreds of other book trailers on youtube. Publishers are just looking for new ways to attract attention to their books.
