Not long before Blackhawks rookies Jimmy Hayes, Brandon Bollig and Andrew Shaw all got into fights against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, their former Rockford IceHogs teammates were involved in a much bigger melee.

The IceHogs, the Hawks' American Hockey League affiliate, got into a bench-clearing brawl with the Milwaukee Admirals.

As expected, the Blackhawks named Ted Dent head coach of the Rockford IceHogs, their American Hockey League affiliate.

The Sun-Times reported on Twitter on July 13 that Dent was the leading candidate for the position after Bill Peters left for an assistant coaching job with the Detroit Red Wings.

Dent is entering his sixth season with the Hawks organization, which includes a year under Hawks assistant Mike Haviland with the Norfolk Admirals, the Hawks' previous AHL affiliate.
