OTTAWA, Ontario -- Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane can't wait to show off to the rest of the NHL what Blackhawks fan have come to love from them. Both are looking forward to competing in the All-Star game's skills competition at Scotiabank Place on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Patrick Sharp has the bragging rights among the Hawks' four All Stars -- and a new car.

Sharp was named the most valuable player of the All-Star Game, recording a goal, two assists, five shots on goal and a plus-2.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- One of the highlights of Saturday's SuperSkills competition, which Team Staal won, occurred when Blackhawks forwards Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews met in the accuracy challenge.

After toughing out a lower-body injury Sunday against the Flyers, Hawks captain Jonathan Toews sat out practice Monday at Johnny's Ice House West.

But like Toews said after Sunday's loss, it's not serious. He will play Tuesday against the Wild at the United Center, the Hawks' last game before the All-Star break.

The pressure is off. That's how Jonathan Toews feels after Hurricanes center Eric Staal and Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom were named the two captains for the All-Star Game Jan. 30 in Raleigh, N.C.

Former Hawk Dustin Byfuglien, who is having a big season for the Atlanta Thrashers at defense, will also be making the trip down to Raleigh, N.C. for the All-Star game.

None of the Hawks was surprised, considering Byfuglien's 16 goals and 41 points. Both totals lead all NHL defensemen.

Jonathan Toews said it best.

"If they are smart, there is no way they should have an All-Star Game without a guy like Patrick Sharp," the Hawks captain said.
