Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa had his flu shot. But he still came down with the bug that appears to be going around the Hawks dressing room.
Jake Dowell missed Saturday's shootout loss against the Phoenix Coyotes and practice Monday at Johnny's IceHouse West. Patrick Kane also was sick and sat out. Kane also missed a game earlier this season with an illness.
Dowell and Kane are the latest Hawks to recently feel ill, following Hossa and John Scott. Others such as Fernando Pisani and Corey Crawford were sick earlier in the year and missed games.
UPDATE: Patrick Kane missed his second practice in a row Tuesday. He is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Wild.
"With Kane, it came up today, and Jake, I was hoping he'd be here today, but he should be better tomorrow," coach Joel Quenneville said. "Kane, hopefully he's fine too."
Hossa missed the Hawks loss to the Dallas Stars Friday before rejoining the team against the Coyotes.
"[Against the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday], it was one of those games I didn't feel well at all," said Hossa, who will be on a line with center Dave Bolland and winger Michael Frolik Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild. "I threw up between the second and third periods. I just couldn't play.
"Two days rest and the doctors gave me some (intravenous therapy) and the next day in Arizona I felt pretty good."
