ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Blackhawks finally made their move for a defenseman.
The Hawks acquired defenseman Chris Campoli and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2011 from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Ryan Potulny and a conditional second-round selection in 2011.
Campoli has three goals, 14 assists and a minus-3 rating in 58 games this season for the Senators.
Hawks general manager Stan Bowman has said multiple times that he was looking to add depth on defense. A left leg injury to Jordan Hendry Sunday also made it essential that Bowman acquire a blue-liner.
A penalty-killing defenseman was Bowman's top priority. Campoli didn't lead the Senators in that sense, but he did average 1:41 per game on the penalty kill. He also had 73 hits and 70 blocks this season for Ottawa.

time will tell about chris campoli he prob will fit in ok , but sure not for a def type d-man , thats for sure. hope i am wrong . and trading away a 2nd round pick , even though it was the 3rd 2nd round pick of chicago's.
teams should NEVER trade away a 1st or 2nd round pick , if you are a gambler. and hockey is a huge gamble. top 3 .....1st rounders have a 60% chance to play in the nhl the rest of the 1st rounders have a 30% chance . a 2nd rounder has a 25% to play in the nhl . 3rd to last have a 12% CHANCE SO YOU SEE THE PATTERN
if it was up to me I would trade all my 3 rd to last picks for a replacement type player if they are needed.
