Dave Bolland's second goal Sunday against the Predators was something to behold. It was by far the Hawks' best goal this season.
Tomas Kopecky fed Bolland with a pass just past center ice, leaving Bolland one-on-one against Predators defenseman Ryan Suter, one of the most underrated blue-liners in the league.
Bolland used a nice drag move to get past Suter, a U.S. Olympian, and then beat Anders Lindback in close to tie the game at 2 in the second period. Suter leads the Predators with a plus-18 rating.
"Suter's a great defenseman, so when I got around him there I was sort of dumbfounded to go around him like that," Bolland said. "After I got around him there the five-hole was open so I just had to tap it in."
Here's the video:
Bolland got off to a slow start this season, but his production has picked up. He has six points (four goals, two assists) in his last four games.
"I know I had a slow start, but it's coming now," Bolland said. "It took some time. I know what I went through with the slump, but through those times I battled and kept playing harder and harder each game. I knew it was about time it would come."
