The Blackhawks placed winger Marian Hossa on injured reserved Wednesday, and recalled Jeremy Morin and Rob Klinkhammer from the Rockford IceHogs.
Hossa's placement on IR is procedural and retroactive to the day he was injured, Monday, Nov. 29. There have been no setbacks with his recovery.
Once a player is placed on IR, he must miss seven days. So Hossa, who suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury in practice when he collided with Nick Boynton, is eligible to return at any time.
Hossa and Fernando Pisani (upper) will not travel with the Hawks on their two-game trip to San Jose and Colorado.
As expected, Morin was brought back from Rockford. He practiced with the IceHogs Tuesday and will continue to see time with Patrick Sharp and Tomas Kopecky on the second line.
Klinkhammer, 24, had three goals and nine points in 20 games. He's a self-described grinder and will play on Jake Dowell's fourth line.
