Center Dave Bolland won't be in the lineup Wednesday when the Hawks host the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center.
Bolland, who has been on injured reserve since Nov. 1 with an apparent rib injury, practiced Tuesday and took part in most drills.
"I felt pretty good," Bolland said. "It's good to be back with them. I was skating on the ice by myself and with the trainers. ... It was lot more fun than just being out there with [strength coach] Paul Goodman."
"He looks like he's real close," coach Joel Quenneville said.
Bolland, though, didn't talk much about his injury or put a timetable on his seemingly imminent return. He has a goal, three points and a plus-1 rating in 12 games this season.
"I don't know right now," Bolland said of his return. "We'll just take it day-by-day right now and see how it goes."
