Center Dave Bolland did not participate in practice Thursday or in Friday's morning skate before the Hawks host the Edmonton Oilers at the United Center.
What's wrong?
Apparently, nothing. Coach Joel Quenneville said he was "fine" Thursday (he also called it a day off) and Friday. He will play against the Oilers.
With Marian Hossa out for two weeks with an undisclosed upper-body injury (it's believed to be an arm or shoulder injury), center Ben Smith was recalled from the Rockford IceHogs.
Smith said Friday after the Hawks' morning skate that he'll play wing on a line with Bolland and Fernando Pisani.
Bolland missed half of last season because of back surgery. He has a goal and three points in 11 games this season. Bolland had "maintenance" days last season too.
Here's the Hawks' projected lines for Friday's game vs. the Oilers:
Viktor Stalberg -- Jonathan Toews -- Patrick Sharp
Troy Brouwer -- Tomas Kopecky -- Patrick Kane
Ben Smith -- Dave Bolland -- Fernando Pisani
Bryan Bickell -- Jake Dowell -- Jack Skille
