The Blackhawks just won the Stanley Cup. The team is celebrating on the ice of the Wachovia Center. Adam Burish didn't play in Game 6 of the finals, but came out to celebrate in his full gear ... and then he was asked about Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger.
Remember that?
You know...those "I think Chris Pronger is the biggest idiot in the league" comments. Well, Burish has apologized.
Burish talked to David Amber, the host of the NHL Network's NHL on the Fly, about it. Here is Burish's answer:
I said some things I probably shouldn't have after that game. It was just a spur of the moment thing and I'm not going to sit and make an excuse about it because what's said was said. I've got a lot of respect for the guy. I think he's a Hall of Fame defenseman, one of the best that's ever played the game. Probably one of the hardest d-men to play against. He does everything well.
I really, truthfully didn't mean anything personal by it. It came out personal but it shouldn't have been said. I was embarrassed about it. I got a lot of respect for the guy and that team is so dangerous.
The video of his chat with Amber is above. But just in case you need a reminder of what was said, here's a video of Burish's original comments:
Oh yeah. Pronger had a funny response to Burish's comments. Here's that video as well. Enjoy.
