Late in the first period, a faceoff was delayed after the puck got lost in Antti Niemi's equipment, following a save on Predators center Nick Spaling.
Play was stopped for several minutes and couldn't resume -- an actual call came in from NHL -- until the puck came free.
So the officials dug into Niemi's pants and pads searching for it. Niemi concluded it was probably lodged in his chest protector underneath his jersey.
"I think [Jonathan] Toews just touched my jersey and it fell out," Niemi said.
Yep, Toews was there to save the day. Here's the video:
What did Niemi say when the officials were stuffing their hands down into his pants?
"I tried [to tell him to get away], but he didn't understand Finnish," he said.
