Brent Seabrook, out the last two games after a head-high check from the Anaheim Ducks' James Wisniewski, will return Tuesday night against the Phoenix Coyotes.
Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said Seabrook should get a regular workload. He missed the last two games with a concussion.
"It's nice to have him back," Quennville said. "He skated three times since he's been out. We're looking for him to get back in there."
Seabrook will be back with Duncan Keith, his usual defensive partner. His return should help spark a team that has struggled defensively recently.
"It can help us," Quenneville said. "Him and Dunc really work well together. They get the top assignment and log a lot of minutes together. Their familiarity with each other helps alleviate some zone time and some puck-possession time as well. He's physical as well. We like his presence back there."
Antti Niemi will start his third consecutive game in net. Cristobal Huet is still recuperating from the flu.
"It's a big game and Antti has been playing the last couple and he's not coming off of what Huet is," Quenneville said. "He's played two real good games as well."
