In the past, coach Joel Quenneville has experimented with different lines and pairings when things aren't clicking.
He is doing the same now with the Hawks stuck in a rut. The Hawks have lost seven of their last 10 games.
These were the lines Monday at practice:
Patrick Sharp -- Jonathan Toews -- Marian Hossa
Dustin Byfuglien -- Kris Versteeg -- Patrick Kane
Andrew Ladd -- Dave Bolland -- Troy Brouwer
Ben Eager -- John Madden -- Adam Burish
Quenneville also said Wednesday that he plans to keep Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith apart for the time being. The duo was split up Sunday vs. Columbus.
One option Quenneville is seriously considering is returning Dustin Byfuglien, who was moved to defense when Brian Campbell and Seabrook were injured, to wing.
''I like the versatility in Buff,'' Quenneville said. ''We may use him at forward a little bit here. We sat Nick [Boynton] out last game. We may put Buff up. But in games, it's a nice option to have Buff go back and forth.''
* Antti Niemi will start Tuesday against the Blues in St. Louis ... As far as Cristobal Huet getting a start on the Hawks' three-game trip, Quenneville said "We'll see."

Hey Adam,
Its time to do an article on Coach Q's massive failure here. He did nothing about the goalie problem. Not making a decision (good/bad) on replacing Huet has had huge effects. Make a stand Q. Say Huet is not getting it done and Niemi is the man. But do something.. Wallowing in the middle got you no where. Add to that they could not deal Huet due to his massive contract only made matters worse. Q has a pattern. He does well in the regular season, but when it comes down to crunch time, he cant do it. He had some stud teams in St. Louis and never won a cup. Plus when certain players (Kane/Seabrook/Sopel) started coming apart. He never sat them down. Star player/big contract.. so what. If your play sucks, then you sit. Make a point. Kanes play in his own end is horrific. Maybe if Q said that to the media... it might wake Kane up. And the bottom line.. Toews is not worthy of the "C". Hes a great player, but not nearly vocal enough. Burish plays with more fire and intensity then anyone and hes on the 4th line?? This team needs a major face lift. And a new head coach.. You need to do an article along those lines. Q is getting a total pass here..
