I was able to send in a few general questions for Hawks star and Olympian Patrick Kane before Team USA's big game Sunday vs. Canada for the gold medal ...
What is the most exciting part about being in Vancouver and representing your country now that you have been there for more than a week?
"The Olympics is something special. Really, everything about it. It's been great to meet other athletes in the village and the buzz around town is really at a fever pitch, particularly heading into the gold-medal game. It's been an experience I'll never forget."
How is the mood in Team USA's locker room different than with the Blackhawks?
"At first we really didn't know each other, but once everyone gets comfortable, things start to gel. It's been great to get to know some of the guys I didn't know very well."
Has the mood in Vancouver around you guys changed after your win over Canada in the preliminary round?
"Not really. It was all really pretty hostile against us. Most of it is good-natured and people have been pretty nice overall."
Which Olympic athlete, not in hockey, or Olympic sport interests you the most, and why?
"Half pipe. Shaun White. I like the way he puts on a show and it's amazing that someone so little can get so high."
