Here are some quick updates from Calgary:

Antti Niemi will start Thursday against the Calgary Flames.

"Antti is playing well and he deserves a chance to play," Hawks coach Joel Quenneville told reporters. "We have a rotation going. Sometimes you might change it but I've been consistent to the scheduling. At the same time, we're on track going into this trip. We can be flexible and if we have to switch we will."

Defensemen Niklas Hjalmarsson (lower-body) and Brent Sopel (upper-body) didn't practice Wednesday in Calgary.
