The Bears have re-signed defensive tackle Nate Collins to a one-year deal, according to two sources.

Collins appeared in nine games last season and finished with 11 tackles and one pass defended.

Collins proved to be a solid backup player for the Bears. Collins, 25, spent his first two NFL seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Collins will make the league minimum of $715,000. He provides depth with the expected release of defensive tackle Matt Toeaina, who was set to collect $300,000 more. Toeaina has refused to take a pay cut.
