The Bears are expected to finalize a deal with Mike Groh to become the team's receivers coach, according to league sources.

Bears coach Marc Trestman said at his press conference Thursday at the NFL Combine that the club would round out their staff by hiring a receivers coach soon.

Groh is the son of Al Groh, the former head coach of the New York Jets and University of Virginia.

Mike Groh starred at Randolph High School in Randolph, New Jersey, and he started at quarterback at UVA, leading the Cavaliers to nine-win seasons and bowl victories in consecutive seasons.

He started his coaching career at Virginia as a graduate assistant and worked his way up to offensive coordinator.

Groh wrapped up his second season as the receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Alabama, where he helped the Crimson Tide with the national title.
