The Bears have allowed special teams coordinator Dave Toub to interview for other assistant coaching jobs on other staffs, according to sources.
The Charlotte Observer reported Thursday that Toub met Wednesday with Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera. Today, Toub is in Kansas City visiting with new Chiefs coach Andy Reid, according to a league source. ![]()
Toub interviewed on Monday for the Bears coaching vacancy with general manager Phil Emery, but he's believed to be a long shot for the job. Toub wrapped up his ninth season with the Bears, continually leading one of the best special teams units in the NFL.
Toub is under contract to the Bears through the 2013 season, but the Bears have granted him the opportunity to at least interview with other clubs for what could be lateral moves. He's believed to be one of the highest-paid special teams coordinators in the NFL.
