Report: Browns deny Bears request to talk to Chris Tabor

Chris Tabor with the Bears.pngThe Bears reportedly are one of six teams to be denied a request to interview Browns special teams coach Chris Tabor, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter -- an indication the Bears are anticipating losing special teams coordinator Dave Toub.

Tabor was Toub's assistant with the Bears from 2008-10 before getting the coordinator's job with the Browns. In his two seasons, the Browns finished 10th and third in special teams rankings compiled by footballoutsiders.com. The Browns recently hired Rob Chudzinski as their head coach, so it's clear that Tabor will be retained by the Browns.

Toub has interviewed for the Bears' head coaching job. But he also reportedly has interviewed for special teams coordinators jobs with the Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers.

Well if they denied the request that means, the request was for a STC. They can''t deny a HC interview. If that's the case Toub is gone, what is even dumber than that is Emery is trying to fill; coaching positions with the say of the future HC. he may want a say Phil.
