Where the Bears stand in Pro Bowl voting among fans

Fan votes count for a third of the total in determining which players head to the Pro Bowl, and the Bears are in solid standing.

But once again, the Green Bay Packers dominate, at least from the fan perspective. Peyton.jpg

Here's some perspective:

* The three leading vote-getters are Peyton Manning (586,523), Tom Brady (534,020) and Arian Foster (519,261). Aaron Rodgers is the top-vote getter in the NFC but fourth overall with 485,196 votes.

* Henry Melton leads NFC defensive tackles with 155,377 votes, ahead of Justin Smith, Dwan Edwards and Ndamukong Suh.

* Brandon Marshall is second in the NFC at receiver, behind Victor Cruz but ahead of Calvin Johnson.

* Minnesota Vikings rookie Matt Kalil is the top vote-getter in the NFC with 117,564 votes.

* Jared Allen of the Vikings leads in the NFC at defensive end, followed by Jason Pierre-Paul, John Abraham, Chris Clemons then Julius Peppers.

* At outside linebacker, it's Clay Matthews, DeMarcus Ware, Aldon Smith, Chad Greenway then Lance Briggs.

* At inside linebacker, it's Patrick Willis, Navorro Bowman, Daryl Washington and Brian Urlacher.

* Tim Jennings (189,791), Charles Tillman (137,031) are the top two in the NFC at cornerback, followed by Cortland Finnegan, Richard Sherman and Antoine Winfield.

* Major Wright is 2nd at strong safety, behind Charles Woodson who has appeared in seven games this season.

* Devin Hester third at kickoff returner, behind Percy Harvin and Randall Cobb.

* Blake Costonzo is third as a special teamer.

For the NFC's sake, at least from the fan perspective, the 49ers and the Packers are clearly the best teams. 49ers have 17 players ranked in the top five of the 19 categories. Keep in mind that a few of the positions have multiple spots but that's still alarmingly high.

The Packers aren't too far behind with 13 players ranked in the top five in terms of fan votes. It's worth noting that five Packers (Rodgers, Woodson, Matthews, Jeff Saturday and John Kuhn) are first at their respective positions.
