Brandon Marshall says Jay Cutler "challenged" offense last week

Heading to Cowboys Stadium for Monday Night Football, Bears receiver Brandon Marshall nearly cried, overcome with emotion.

"It felt like a tidal wave building all week, crescendoing," Marshall said. "All glory to God. I'm just thankful that he chose to use me. It's humbling to be in this type of venue, this atmosphere. I really wanted to enjoy it and take advantage of this opportunity."

Marshall had his best game this season, catching seven passes for 138 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown.

Jay Cutler may have had something to do with it.

"He pushed us tonight," Marshall said of his quarterback. "He challenged us throughout the week, and I think it transferred over to game day."

Marshall was targeted eight times, a team-high. But, Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was tarted 14 times, catching 13 passes for 112 yards, including one touchdown.

The Bears moved Marshall around, constantly looking for favorable match ups, something Cowboys coach Jason Garrett noted.

"They do a good job that way, and he does a good job," Garrett said of the movement. "He's a physical reciver. He kind of pushes off the top of things and creates some separation, and he did that throughout the ball game and Cutler did a nice job of finding him."

Through four games, Marshall has 23 catches for 352 yards with two touchdowns.

Do you imagine Witten was upset by being tarted 14 times? Does it hurt?

So who won the fricken game

We finally get to see again the relationship between Cutler and Marshsll paying some big divdends. I loved almost every minute of last night's game. I was only disappointed whaen the defense allowed the late touchdown at the end of the game. They obviously just let up and allowed Orton to make Romo look bad.I think one should play his best the whole game; otherwise bad habits tend to develop that can hurt in more significant situations. Even so, that was a great victory and show-cased the Bears' potential on both defense and offense.
Perhaps Cutler should not have refused to sit next to Tice, but I can sympathize with his frustration. With all the talk about the importance of getting into a rhythm on offense, delays in getting plays in can ruin the chances of establishing any rhythmic pace. The delays cost a time-out that might have proved crucial, and Tice needs to recognize the importance of getting plays in quickly.

Last night, the Bears showed the country who has the NFL's best defense!! Yeah, players like Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, and Peppers are getting to be on the wrong side of 30, but they can still play, wow can they still play!! I think what makes this defense special is a great mix of vets and youngster like Melton, Paea, and Major Wright among others!

One of the key players is 3-tech Henry Melton, he's headed to the Pro-Bowl and on pace to get the 10 plus sacks that he's aiming on getiing! Melton, along with rookie Shea McClellin, is making it possible for Rod Marinelli to move his linemen around, namely Julius Peppers! When you can bring four ends (rush 4), Peppers, Melton, McClellin, and Idonije, and drop your back 7, offenses are gonna have a hard time!!

It doesn't hurt the fire power Chicago has on offense either, Marshall, Jeffery, Hester, and Forte. One regret though, can you imagine this offense, Forte in the backfield, flanked by Marshall and Jeffery, with Greg Olsen at tight end...wow. Kellen Davis did have some nice catches last night though, hopefully he continues to come on GO BEARS!!
