READ JAY'S LIPS ... or better yet, don't!

0ap1000000062035.jpgGREEN BAY, Wis. - And now a word from Jay Cutler to his lineman J'Marcus Webb ... earmuffs kids.

The Bears quarterback was caught by cameras dressing down Webb on the sidelines of Thursday night's game, and even chest-bumping the left tackle after telling him "get your f----- head into the game.''

Cutler couldn't avoid getting sacked by the Packers seven times in the 23-10 loss, and he definitely wasn't avoiding questions about publicly calling out an offensive line that he's taken numerous shots at since last May.

"I care about this,'' Cutler said of the incident with Webb. "This isn't just a hobby for me. If we're not doing things the right way, I'm going to say something. If they want a quarterback that doesn't care then they better get someone else.''

Webb downplayed things as best he could.

"It's an emotional game and things happen, and things get said, and you move on and go onto the next play,'' Webb said. "Uh, take it for what it is.''

Asked about it being more than just some "friendly advice'' from Cutler, Webb said, "[He was] saying, 'Let's move this ball, let's get this touchdown.' Positive.''

It was the week leading up to the Colts game that Cutler last called out the offensive line, turning a question about the improved weapons around him into an "or else'' on the shoulders of the offensive line.

"We can only do as much as they can handle,'' Cutler said of his offensive line. "If they can only block three-step drops, we can only throw three-step passes. We're limited to what they can do and as of now, they've been holding up really well.

"We've got some guys that can play football on the outside. There's no doubt about that. It's gonna hopefully make my job easier; being able to get them the ball, let them work. Up front I think the guys know that there's some pressure on them because Matt Forte can run if we give him holes. If I get the guys the ball on the outside and we hold up enough time we can make some good plays. So it's gonna be fun to watch.''

Or in the case of Webb on Thursday night, fun to tear down and scream at on national television.

OK fine, Cutler shouldn't call out his teammates in public. But what's more important is that Cutler shouldn't be in that position in the first place. The McCheapskys refuse to hire a real team president, so their offensive line is now the worst in the league. Nice that Emory finally got some real receivers, but they won't do much good if the line can't block.

This was totally discouraging. Green Bay has a lousy defense and they almost shut the Bears out. Judging by players saying during preseason that they're going to the Super Bowl, the lame public comments during the week, and finally this totally lame performance, the offense is overconfident. Maybe this butt kicking is just what they needed to get their heads in the right place. On the other hand, if the line is this bad, this might be a preview of the rest of the season.

Eh…isn't this the same game that’s been played for almost 10 years now? Feels like watching a movie about repetition, repetitiously - i.e. and cross between “Groundhog Day” and “Clockwork Orange” complete with electric shock therapy.

The packers are who we thought they were lmao.......

J'Marcus Webb is clearly not the answer at left tackle, if his bad play continues, you'll probably see Chris Williams manning the left tackle position in the coming weeks.

With that being said, yes, the line play was bad, and yes, the receivers were off, but you know what, so were Green Bays. Aaron Rodgers was sacked 5 times, Rodgers was under pressure all night, Rodgers receivers were messing up, the one Rodgers pick was because a receiver messed up on his route, so my question is this, whats Cutlers excuse? Sooner or later Cutler is gonna have to start holding himself accountable. You can blame the line, the receivers, the scheme, but sooner or later Cutler is gonna have to look in the mirror and ask himself, am I a special quarterback like Aaron Rodgers, do I have the "IT" factor that makes the really great ones? Or do I need the perfect line, perfect receivers, and perfect scheme to make it happen. Heck, Rodgers didn't even have his #1 receiver, and he had a running back who the Bears dumped (Benson), who oh yeah, didn't even really know the Packers playbook last night, again, whats Cutlers excuse? At the end of the day, Rodgers still made it happen, Cutler, again, didn't.

Now, don't take this post wrong, Jay Cutler is the best quarterback on the roster, Jason Campbell wouldn't have fared any better. What Cutler is is a QB with a strong arms that can make more throws than the average NFL QB, but is that it? Hopefully not only the line, receivers, and coaches step up in the coming weeks, hopefully Cutler does to. Should be interesting, GO BEARS!!

Looks like it's going to take more than one offseason to reverse the years of neglect and ineptitude of Jerry Angelo. That bozo was fired about five years too late. I'm still amazed that they got rid of him. One of the biggest jackasses to ever occupy a corner office at any ballclub, and yet they kept the clown for so long.

Next to go: J'Marcus Webb, Kellen Davis, Chris Spencer, Lovie Smith, and the entire McCaskey family. Bubb-bye and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

Throw the ball jay not a hissy fit. I don't think orton would have thrown a hissy fit like that. Creighton that is your boy, Jay Jay. Good luck defending him this time.

It is time for Cutler to start being an example instead of the guy that is throwing everyone else under the bus for their poor play but then Cutler is not taking responsibility for his poor decision making and poor passes when he is the one that messes up.

Let us finally face the fact that Cutler is an average QB in the NFL. He has one of the top 3 arms in the league, but when it comes to decision making he is poor, he has turnovers often in both red zones like he did last week against the Colts for a pick 6, but no one got on him because he came back and looked great. If you really analyzed that game he could have been intercepted more than a few times.

The Packers called it when they said they would get their shots at interceptions because they knew that Cutler would make poor passing decisions as he has done throughout his career against more than just the Packers.

Has Cutler ever really won anything of consequence in his football career? How many winning playoff games has he been the QB? Never won a NFC Championship or Superbowl, never won a conference championship in college, has he won a state H.S. championship in High School or Pee Wee Football?

The problem is Cutler does not know how to be a great QB, Joe Montana had half the physical talent and three times the brains. He would throw it away instead of throwing the interceptions that cost the game. Montana had patience and leadership skills, you earn leadership by setting examples, not belittling your fellow teammates, you earn the role of a leader not demand it.

Cutler is an average NFL QB until he can screw his head on straight and quit making stupid turnovers despite his physical skills, which are extraordinary and exceptional.

I hope he will become what everyone wants him to become an Elite NFL QB not a spoiled child that throws tantrums.

Troy Aikman grabbed his linemen's facemasks on multiple occasions. Peyton Manning almost got into a fight with Jeff Saturday on multiple occasions. And Aaron Rodgers was screaming at receivers in the same game.

This is all about how everyone loves to hate Cutler.

When he's quiet, you bash him for seemingly not caring.

When he's vocal, he's a baby.

Why don't you shut the f**k up Brando. You clearly know nothing about football.

Webb's play was unbelievably bad. He should be cut. It can't get any worse than that. There have to be guys on the waiver wire who can play better than that. And FTR, Webb's been called out by Lovie, Tice, even fellow linemen in public. Webb just doesn't care - and he's going to get Jay killed.

Jay made mistakes and had a bad game. Yup. But the Bears OL, save for Garza and maybe Williams, basically didn't even show. Tice and Dave Toub got out-coached, and Matt Forte and the wideouts didn't do much at all.

And you're right, Orton wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit. That's true. He would have thrown the football 4 yards down field - right into the dirt.

I have no problem with Cutler dressing down his line, public or not. Anybody remember how Marino would blister his receivers if one of them ran the wrong route? Nobody cares about that because Marino would throw four touchdowns a game. Cutler on the other hand was terrible last night. Held the ball too long, poor decisions, inaccurate, and a surprising lack of arm strength. Just terrible.

Kevin, you are spot on. If this is the best Jay an do under pressure and in the key games, then he is not "the guy.". I hate to say it, but until he proves he can beat GB, and not come apart under the pressure, he will never truly be the guy for the Bears. Yes he's the best we've had in a generation, but Orton held up better under the pressure and didn't turn the ball over as much.

Esteven, I second that. But especially this: "Why don't you shut the f**k up Brando. You clearly know nothing about football."

LOL.

But anyway, as has been too often the case after losses, Cutler gets smacked around 20 times before the first quarter is over and then clueless fans start wondering, "Aww, what is wrong with Jay? Why is he getting sacked? Why is he throwing an interception? He must not be an elite quarterback!"

Apparently those same fans also expect Jay to block the multitude of defenders who seem to swarm him in no fewer than two seconds after the ball is snapped, as well as catch the passes he throws.

It's true, Cutler seems to irk a lot of people with his demeanor, so when he falters they're all too ready to rip him apart. But me personally, after 3+ seasons of seeing #6 get turned into hamburger meat behind a laughable cast of pass blockers, and still continue to not only play but put up respectable numbers on the season, well shoot, he has my utmost respect for that.

And Armstead, as usual you make zero sense in your posts. You first go on a rant about how Cutler is not up to par with Rodgers, how Cutler isn't an elite QB, how blah blah blah...but then you point out that if someone else was in his position, they too would fare just as bad if not worse. C'mon, do you even read what you write before you submit it? Where's Creighton to keep the likes of you and Brando in check or has the C-Man mellowed in recent months?

It's not just about berating his linemen in public, which is bad enough and I don't give a damn who else does it. The worst part was the post-game interview where Cutler threw teammates under the bus but took no responsibility for his own bad play. The really good QBs say something like, "I played poorly, I have to play better, it all starts with me, we have to do better." The QB is the leader of the offense and usually the team. Who wants to play for a guy who blames everyone else, in public no less, and takes no responsibility himself?

The entire offense played poorly Thursday. Cutler was probably shell shocked by a certain point, so he might have the best excuse. But by blaming everyone but himself, he creates a situation where no one wants to play for him, not a good situation to say the least. Dahlilama got it right: Cutler's a great passer, but as a QB he's got a very long way to go. This far into his career it's doubtful things will improve re his personality, though there's always a chance.

Ha ha ha ha I TOLD YOU ALL SO!! Where are you creighton, little c?? hahaha

Are you a human being? Have you ever lost your temper? Have you ever made a mistake?

I think you're missing the point - and this peanut gallery BS about Jay Cutler is getting old. You don't know him. He did not do or say anything that other players and QBs have done all around the league for years. The difference is, the entire media world didn't need to "chime in" and "pass judgement" on Troy Aikman when he grabbed his lineman's facemask and screamed at him in the middle of series.

And another thing, when Jay says something, he's labeled a jerk - and when he's quiet, everybody thinks he doesn't care. It's all fueled by a few journalists in Chicago who didn't get the "respect they thought they deserved" (Mully) - and Mark Schlereth at ESPN - who hates Cutler.

I hear terms like "bad body language" WHAT? I actually studied body language communication in graduate school while working on my MBA. There is no significant footage or evidence that Jay Cutler has bad body language. Nonsense. This is all nonsense.

And tho the f**k are you to criticize him as a person or a QB?

Ben Rothlesberger was accused and investigated of forcible rape TWICE! He's still in Pittsburgh.

Jay Cutler - or Mike Ditka - or Jim Harbaugh - or Aaron Rodgers - anybody for that matter does not have to fit into some sort of personality mold to be a good quarterback or a good human being.

All you Cutler bashers just suffer from the information age poison that fills newspapers and medial outlets and makes it impossible to sit back and look at something critically, fairly, and objectively.

Why don't you all just get back on your high f**king horses, and read more stat lines and misquotes on your smart phone.

Disappointing game, but , as the Packers said last week, it's only one game. I don't have a problem with Cutler getting on guys who mess up; he should, natiomal television or not. The fake field goal really upset me. Where was tha laude Taub special teams' coach's head on that play? Where also was the defensive line on the Benson runs? The article claiming the Bear defense did its part strikes me as laughable.Did the __Suntimes__ writer watch the same game I did? Where was the defense on the Driver touichdown? I think leaders on the defense should act a little more like Cutler does on offense and yell a bit about stupid penalties, not laugh about things as a certain bear linebacker did after dropping an easy interception thrown right at him.
