Matt Forte: "I want to remain in Chicago and remain a Bear"

INDIANAPOLIS -- It was great to catch up with Bears running back Matt Forte, who was making the rounds today at the Media Center.

Here are some of my questions and Matt's answers from our chat:

Q: How was your first Pro Bowl?
A: It was real fun. It beats the snow. I took my mom and dad, wife, and her parents.

Q: Fairly small group...
A: I don't have the means to fly everybody out there right now.

Q: What were some of the highlights?
A: I enjoyed the beach, meeting the guys. Aaron Rodgers is a cool guy. Drew Brees, he's a cool guy.
Marshawn Lynch. [LeSean] McCoy. A lot of guys on defense, as well. A lot of guys from Carolina. I can do an impersonation of Greg [Olsen], so they liked that. It was nice to meet those dudes.

Q: What did you think of all the concern about you even playing in the Pro Bowl, given your knee injury?
A: I wouldn't have gone out there, if I wasn't 100 percent. I'm healed up and I'm ready to go.

Q: What did you think of people who didn't want you to play in the game?
A: I make my own decisions. I don't listen to the crowd, about whether I should play in the Pro Bowl or not.

Q: What's your mindset, after the Bears hired a new general manager?
A: I want to remain in Chicago and remain a Bear.

Q: Will there be a clean slate, after some tension with Jerry Angelo?
A: I never harbored hard feelings toward anybody. [Angelo] had his opinions. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. We'll continue to negotiate with them, and we'll see where it ends up at.

So Matt Forte thinks Aaron Rodgers is a cool guy, eh? And we all know or should know, that Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers are buddies (at least Jay so claims) Agree? Then why don't we cut their sorry asses ASAP. Why? because Aaron Rodgers is not a cool guy. And he's the Packers QB. Oh where oh where have you gone Dick Butkus? The Bear Nation turns its lonely eyes to you. Come on fellow bloggers, stand up- tell me I'm wrong, tell me that we shouldn't dump Forte and Cutler for their insupportable views. Or have even the fans gone, well, you know...

Hey CheeseTownChokesDoubleSuck. Matt forte thinks Aaron Rodgers is a "cool guy.For saying that, I think we should cut Matt Forte. What do you think?

Real smart, western

Let me see now; who were the two guys missing in action when we needed them at the end of the season? The two guys who think Aaron Rodgers is cool, huh? I hope you don't think it was just a coincidence, that it had nothing to do with them thinking Rodgers is cool . You sound like a reasonable man so you probably do. Rodgers is an insurance salesman!. The Giants beat him up! Next time you write, maybe you should think first. Oh, and maybe not be so terse; it would be easy to go right by your one-liners. You need development.

Pay Forte. I say the pay for Forte, should be around 3 min 5 max years, 20 million min, 32 million max.
Forte is a special player. he will get his yards and keep drives alive. He isnt elite and he is just good. He is a gamer. A 3 down back.Forte has alot of miles on him but he does elude the big hit.4 years 25 mil with 12-15 garuanteed would be fitting.
Cutler, Forte and a WR that can play the #1 spot could be huge. What would even be better, for the team, is get some studs on the O-Line.

Respect for one's opponents is a solid and admirable tradition, so Forte and Cutler showing their attitudes toward Rodgers is fine. Personally, I can't stand Rodgers, but I will acknowledge that I dislkike anyone who wears a Green Bay uniform. No doubt I am severely prejudiced that way, but I'm probably too old to change.
