Although he only played in 10 games, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is a Pro Bowl alternate.
Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback for the NFC, and Drew Brees and Eli Manning also made the Pro Bowl roster.
According to a league source, though, Cutler is the fourth alternate.
Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Cam Newton is the first alternate, followed by Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys and Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions.
For the Bears, only defensive end Julius Peppers and kickoff returner Devin Hester are first alternates.
Other alternates from the Bears include kicker Robbie Gould, center Roberto Garza and defensive tackle Henry Melton.

Does anyone else wonder whether Henry Melton deserves the hype he's getting? Sure he has a few sacks - big deal. But where is the disruptiveness we want from that position?
