Bears cornerback Charles Tillman has earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl, a league source confirmed.
Initially, former Bears defensive end Alex Brown posted on his Twitter account, "Congrats to my boy Peanut on making the Pro Bowl... Long over due... Great job."
Tillman has had one of his best seasons, and he distinguished himself by singling up Detroit Lions Pro Bowl receiver Calvin Johnson in a 37-13 victory on Nov. 13. In that game, Johnson -- the league's best receiver this season -- finished with seven catches for 81 yards with no touchdowns.
Tillman has 93 tackles this season, with three forced fumbles, two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown, and 11 passes defended. He also earned his first sack of the season in last Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Bears linebacker Lance Briggs posted on his Facebook page that he has also been selected to the Pro Bowl team.
The official announcement will be on the NFL Network tonight.
