Tommie Harris said goodbye to the Bears and Chicago by taking out a full-page add in the Sun-Times. Here's the text of the ad that appeared in Thursday's editions:

Dear Chicago,

Words cannot express my heartfelt appreciation for your support throughout my seven seasons with the Chicago Bears.

From the moment I first stepped off the plane back in 2004, I have felt the warmth of your welcome. I have been embraced by this great city and have come to know it as my home. I consider myself as much a Chicagoan as a Texan.

You have cheered with me in our victories, and I don't think I could ever get tired of hearing your roar as I am introduced before a game!

You have expressed your concern over my injuries. Thousands of you have sent letters, cards, and e-mails over the years wishing me well.

I will deeply miss my teammates whose comradery on and off the field is unmatched. I could not imagine going into battle with a better group of guys.

I have met so many of you in person, and you are always so kind and friendly. I will miss each and every one of you.

I could never have asked for better teammates, better fans or a better city.

So, thank you, Chicago. It's been a great run!

May God bless all of you,

Tommie Harris

Just plain class.. he will be missed.

Great thank you letter from Tommie Harris. He is a first class type of guy with a charismatic personality who was a real force for the Bears. It is unfortunate that injuries kept him from performing at a high enough level to finish his career in Chicago. Will miss his candid interviews and contagious smile. Good luck in your future endeavors Tommie!!!

Yawwwnnnn.

We could get a good DT or DE to fall to us in the first round with the 29th pick but it should be oline sense that is our biggest need. I am thinking a 2nd or 3rd for DT.

Tommie you are such a class act. You will be missed and always remembered in a good way! Thank you for all that you did for Da Bears, us fans and people less fortunate. Wishing you well Tommie in your future endeavors and whatever life brings your way.

Thanks for an uneventful career. How many times did you make All-Pro? How many times did you whine about your knee? Overpaid to underperform. You went in to a funk immediatley after signing a large contract. I dont think anyone is going to miss Tommie Harris. I saw all of your home games and almost never heard your name called. Class? OK.....more like prepping for some kind of off field commentators job. See you later.

Such a class act by a man who was a BEAST in his prime.THANK YOU SO MUCH TOMMY !GOD BLESS YOU and GOOD LUCK wherever you land!

If your going to pretend to be me, could you at least have a coherent or be funny? What you wrote doesn't even make sense. What is the whole online part about? Even if its stupid and insulting you could at least try and make sense. What, did you grab a bunch of words and paste them together?
