Prediction time: Bears at Lions

| 21 Comments | No TrackBacks

Give BearsGeoff a hand. He was closest to predicting the Bears 31-26 win over the Eagles last Sunday when he offered up 30-23.

I don't see how Drew Stanton and the Bears can score much Sunday, folks. I'm taking the Bears, 24-13.

do nfl coaches listen to what people say on tv and do they take advice from nfl pregame shows

Bears 35-6. Stanton may have to exit in the third to make way for the next QB!

GO BEARS!!!

I had Bears 31-17

But even I didn't know it would be over by halftime.
Bears 30-13 Gould is my fantasy kicker--need the extra 3.

The stars haven't aligned for me to get a prediction in for a couple weeks, and this week is not an easy one. Playing the Lions sandwiched between the Eagles and the Pats is exactly the type game where we have seen Da Bears lay the proverbial egg in the past. On top of that you have to believe that Calvin Johnson has this one circled on his calendar. I bet that dude is having a fun-filled week with the media.

A lot depends on how the Bears get out of the gate. If they get an early lead, it will probably not be close. If they let Detroit get a lead, or even just hang aroud, it could be interesting in the wrong direction.

The defense should dominate the Lions, but I think it will be a tough, and probably ugly, NFC North game.

19-9 Bears.

Drew Stanton and the Bears???????

Bears now have confidence and hunger on the same page, poor Lions!
Bears: 34 Lions: 13

Neil,

I think as fast as the Bears played last Sunday on that embarrassment they call a field, they are more suited for artificial turf. If Suh starts to collapse the pocket against the Bears interior line, then Cutler will move outside like he has been doing for the past month. I hope the Bears front 4 can get pressure again this week. If it appears as though they can't, then let's hope Lovie/Marinelli don't get stubborn and refuse to bring added people.

Bears 27-10

BTW, did you mean to say "Stanton and the Lions" above?

Bears win 20 to 10.

Tougher game than most expect with 3rd QB for Detroit not generating a ton of offense.

Bears Defense is good and offense sputters but still does OK.

Special Teams again is dominant.

Bears get ready for the remaining four games, with the hope that Green Bay, New Orleans, New York Giants and Atlanta lose games this weekend combined with a Bears win would be sweet and put the Bears in a lot better position for a playoff berth and possible NFC North Championship.

27-9 Bears

Really Neil? And just where are those thirteen points going to come from? Let's try and remember the last third string QB the Bears played against. Folks, I see another shut out in the making.

Bears 27, Lions 0

Things will get ugly fast for Detroilet.

Clap clap, BearsGeoff. Well done, sir.

All right! Here comes another sweet prediction while I'm hot (came close on the MN game a couple weeks ago too, not to mention the intangibles I included in said predictions.... listen to me ring my own bell, what a dork)

I predict da Bears will stomp da Lions 48 - 2. Da Lions only points will come on a safety after Suh pushes Cutler in da Bears endzone making him trip over da Lions overly-inflated sense of revenge after da week one debacle. Stanton throws more pics than Cutler has in one game, and Morris goes out with an injury to his pussy.

No way. The Lions will not score unless it is a off an interception, and I don't expect the bears to throw the ball much.

Bears 24 - Lions 0

Chicaga abuzz wit' DA Bears! Big Mo Mo riding a Chicago freight train. Da kitties losing their best leaders across the board. Who is Drew Stanton? Only trap shutting on da Bears is More-I-see-da-more-I-whine's mouth. Da Bears getting love deservedly. Peppers is setting the high bar for effort. That chase down of Mike Vick just to stop a first down in the second half was just unbelievable. When the best players play the hardest, a team rolls. Da bears are groovin' toward the playoffs. Naysaying is shut down in Chitown in December and we got Jets, Pats and NCF north foes. Can't wait to watch it unfold. Prognosticatin' this week is like stealing candy from a baby. Bears roll 31-10 and Devin goes into the record books as the NFL's all-time best returner.

I think this game will be a pretty good test of the Bears' resilience. Detroit is going to be all fired up because of the way they lost the first game, and in spite of their record, they are pretty darned good. The Bears should profit from the lion injuries however and should be able to score on pass plays. I don't see the Bears able to run all that much, but screens should be effective. Bears 42, Lions 19.

bears can't look past lions, Bears 34- Lions 13

I'm not seeing much Detroit offense, and the Bears are getting into rhythm.
Bears 24 Lions 3.

Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson guarantees a win over Chicago. I don't see it, not with Drew Stanton at the helm for the mighty Lions. Maybe with a healthy Stafford, but he's done. At receiver the Lions have Calvin Johnson, who has 12...oh I mean 11 tds on the season. Chicago has done a pretty good job of shutting Johnson down as of late. You would think with Detroit starting the same 5 on their line for 11 games they'd be a lot better. Peppers and crew will have their way with the Lions front.

The Lions defensive line is the opposite of their o-line health wise. First, starter Kyle Vanden Bosch is out, DT Corey Williams has a banged up shoulder, and end Cliff Avril has a bum quadricep. Ndamukong Suh is a stud, but not by himself, I don't see the Lions front giving the Bears any trouble, at least they better not! Cornerback Alphonso Smith was having a breakout season with 5 picks until the thanksgiving day game where he might have been exposed. We'll see if he can rebound vs Johnny Knox. In the end Bears 35 Lions 17 GO BEARS!!

Lions are on their 3rd string QB and Running back. Kyle VB is out. The Lions have very little chance to win this one. The Lions are in 2nd in the NFC in avg points scored at home with 28.something. Crazy yeah.
The Bears come outta this one 41-0.

Was not feeling it last week, thought the Eagles would win. Have to get off the schneid: Bears 41, Lions 10.

Bear Down!

This is going to be the break out game. Forty-burger time.

Bears 46, Lions 10.
