Advantage Bears: Spikes suspended

| 2 Comments | No TrackBacks

Earlier today, I wrote that all the intangibles seemed to be leaning the Bears way leading up to Sunday's game against the Patriots at Soldier Field.

Here's another: According the Boston Herald via, Patriots rookie linebacker Brandon Spikes has been suspended for the final four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Spikes has eight starts this season. Here's the statement he released: "I've been contacted by the NFL and informed that I will be suspended 4 games for the detection of an illegal substance in a drug test. The substance was a medication that I should have gotten clarification on before taking. It was not a performance enhancer or an illegal drug. The integrity of the game is very important to me. I understand the league's ruling and apologize to my teammates, the fans and the Patriots organization for this mistake."

Advantage, New England. I've seen a lot of games in snow, and Tom Brady, along with his 'quick' receivers, are very, very good in this weather. This weather is the receivers advantage more than anything, and New England uses it as well as anyone I've seen in the last 30 years.

If Martz continues his 'small ball' then the game hinges on turnovers.

Let's hope his ego didn't get lost in the snow!

-----^^^^^. This guy know what he's talking about. Finally a smart bears fan.
