Report: Pats, Eagles also make offers to Peppers

If the Bears really want Julius Peppers they may want to lock him inside Halas Hall today during his visit.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Patriots and Eagles have also made offers to the free-agent defensive end. No disrespect to La Canfora, who is an excellent reporter, but it's not easy sifting through the information and disinformation in times like these, when agents often float rumors to create urgency in a quest for a sweeter deal.

The fact that coach Lovie Smith went to Charlotte to personally escort Peppers to Chicago is a good sign, as is Peppers making Chicago his first official visit. That doesn't necessarily mean that a deal will come today, however. There is an argument to be made that Peppers would be wise visit the Patriot and Eagles, as well. Looking from the outside in, and all things being equal, those situations would seemingly be as attractive for a free agent of Peppers' caliber as playing in Chicago, especially if it's a Super Bowl ring that he's looking for.

In my opinion - Just Like Cutler - Jerry will best any offer so its good the offers are on the table already.

If Peppers leaves Chicago without a deal, we are done...

Heard Peppers was getting a physical 30min ago...
