Bears' coaches, players and front-office personnel will take a private plane provided by the team to Gaines Adams' funeral, which has been scheduled for 1 p.m. (EST) Friday in Easley, S.C.
The Bears defensive end died Sunday morning of cardiac arrest. Players generally scatter when the season ends, some taking vacations and some remaining in the area while still others go home to visit friends and family, as Adams had done. For that reason, a team spokesperson said it was not immediately known who or how many Bears' employees would make the trip, although coach Lovie Smith and general manager Jerry Angelo are expected to attend.
