Report: Irish can Weis; Hiring process back in 2004 was a joke

Add Charlie Weis to the list of available possible offensive coordinators.

The New York Daily News has reported that Notre Dame has taken care of the fully expected and canned Charlie Weis.

It was a forgettable era for the university going all the way back to the sham of a hiring process used to bring Weis in. The school asked ex-Bears defensive coordinator Greg Blache to come speak with them about the position. Blache said he wasn't interested. The school called back. Blache said he wasn't interested. Finally, school officials played on his loyalty as an alum and he agreed to meet with them provided it remained private.

Then, unscrupulous school officials leaked the fact that they had met with Blache to media, making it known the Irish had interviewed a minority coaching candidate after firing Tyrone Willingham, an African-American.

"Interviews are like kisses," Blache told the Sun-Times at the time. "Gentlemen don't kiss and tell."

Maybe Notre Dame can be a little more straightforward in its efforts to replace Weis.

It has to be better now that Kevin White left, he being the pathological liar who extended Davies' contract then fired him, offered the job to 6 coaches including O'Leary before going back to Willingham, wouldn't hire Meyer because he didn't have enough experience yet to "lead a big time program", then fired Willingham and couldn't land Meyer, and then went through 6 more candidates before getting to Weis. So if you think about it, Weis was Whites 12th choice.

White has left and his incompetence is now making Duke into a 4-win perennial.

CHARLIE WOULD DO WONDERS WITH THE BEARS, TURNER IS OUT OF HIS ELEMENT, CHARLIE WOULD HAVE SOLDIER FIELD ROCKING AND ROLLING, TURNER HAS US ALL DOING THE THROWUP DANCE, BRING ON CHARLIE AND LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

Hahahahah, Wies is a joke and so is Notre Dame. Overrated every year, a really good school with a football team that plays 70 percent of their games at home against some of the weakest opponents in football. If they had any stones they would join the big 10, but then they would embarrased every game. Not to really blame the Irish sense its the fans and BCS that over hype this team every year.

Oh Blache you are the quote king. "Just needs little salt and pepper"

Was Tyrone Willingham born in Africa? Call me an Italian-American then, not "white"!!!!!!!

This is the kind of behavior I expect coming out of S. Bend. What a horrible example of a model colegiate institution.

Get back to the Bears beat buddy.
