Kreutz set to return to practice field this afternoon

| 1 Comment | No TrackBacks

Center Olin Kreutz (ribs/back) is expected to return to practice this afternoon after missing the last two days.

Coach Lovie Smith said on Wednesday that he expected Kreutz to be able to start Sunday night. The veteran has missed just one game, in 2002, since the start of the 2001 season. That means Josh Beekman will likely be in place at left guard for the meeting with Philadelphia.

Tight end Desmond Clark (neck) and safety Kevin Payne (back) remain sidelined.

Check back later on for more details.

Kruetz is set to return to the backfield, don't you mean.
Olin WAS a terrific center, he no longer is even adequate. He spends more time in the backfield than Forte. If I have to watch him chase (from behind) another D Tackle, I'm going to lose it.

He gets blown up on almost every play. Thanks, but no thanks.
