BOURBONNAIS, Ill.--The Bears have not been here a week this summer and they've already ensured they will return to Olivet Nazarene University next summer for three weeks.
Team and university officials made it official this morning when they signed a contract to bring the team back in 2010 in the option year for the two-year agreement plus a mutual option that the sides originally agreed to before 2008.
This is the eighth summer the Bears have trained at the school.
Brad,
Based on the detailed stuff you are able to share, the facility at ONU must give you a fairly good vantage point. I, for one, would be interested in some specifics of YOUR day at training camp. Things like how close you can get to the practice fields, when and under what circumstances during the day you can talk to the players or coaches, are some of the practices closed, things like that.
The news about re-upping ONU may seem boring to some, but the growing trend in the NFL is to hold training camp at the regular team facility. I'm pretty sure if that happend with the Bears, your access will be more restricted, and we will not be able to get as much news as we do now. I'm glad we can count on next year.
Thanks again for the good work.
