f the focus for the Bears on the offensive line has been at tackle, but they're doing their homework when it comes to guards.
Scout Ted Monago is expected to be at the Missouri Western pro day Thursday with the intent of watching guard Roger Allen.
Allen suffered a sports hernia shortly after performing in the Texas vs. The Nation all-star game, where he had an interview with general manager Jerry Angelo. He was invited to the combine but was not able to work out there. Allen participated in part at the Mizzou pro day last month where he checked in at 6-3, 326 pounds, and put up 38 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds. But Allen was limited to just some position drills. He's expected to perform the timing drills on Thursday and roughly half the league could be represented.
Durability isn't a concern with Allen despite the hernia. He started 48 games. The key is trying to project him to the NFL from the I-AA ranks. He's extremely strong and considered a high character guy who has passion for the game. That's the kind of player Angelo looks all day to find. Carolina has shown considerable interest in Allen already. Keep an eye on Allen as a potential second-day selection, maybe around the fourth or fifth round.

Hey lets line him up next to Williams, back surgery, hernia. This would be right up JA's alley
