Bears check in on the scene at West Virginia

The Bears got a good look at West Virginia quarterback Pat White on Thursday as college scouting director Greg Gabriel was spotted in Morgantown, W.Va., at the Moutaineers' pro day. White primarily did quarterback drills which is how he turned some heads last month at the scouting combine.

White turned heads again.

"Pat White looked to me like an NFL quarterback," texted an NFL source who attended the event.

No telling if White was what Gabriel was focused on during his visit. West Virginia has a couple offensive linemen worth inspecting in guards Greg Isander and Ryan Stanchek.

Elsewhere, Midwest scout Jeff Shiver was at Northwestern's pro day, where we spent the bulk of the day taking in the activities. That explains our lack of activity here. More on the action from Evanston a little later on. There was another full lineup of pro days today and it's believed Southwest scout Chris Ballard was in Lubbock at the Texas Tech pro day. One source said the Bears are not at Kansas State's workout where quarterback Josh Freeman is about to get started. It could be that Teddy Monago, who covers K-State, is at Nebraska's pro day, which is also today.

Check back soon for some updates from the Wildcats pro day where more than 15 teams were represented.

See the new reality show? It stars Pat White playing the role of Doug Flutie. Theme song for the show is the tune of O'Canada!

If he is there at 5 or 6 why not he could be a real sleeper.

Pat White is the Darkhorse of the Draft! What more does he have to prove..Only player w/ 4 bowl wins, stole the show @ the Senior Bowl, and took all the headlines(positive) at the combine from the position players! And stayed for 4 yrs, which shows Maturity. He could've easily split last yr when Rodriguez went to Michigan, But he hung on and w/ a new coach(get used to that fact,Lovie fans)and succeeded.
This kid seriously has to be taken into consideration in the 3rd round, but w/ all our potholes to fix..gonna be hard .
Senior Bowl..played a pro-style O for the first time, and Del Rio put him in outta turn for the 2 minute drill...tells me he stood out in someone's mind!
White is a 1st day selection, scouts are drooling over him in every write-up I've seen..and for us Joe's ,he's been impressive in all the action we have access to.

Pat White may be good, but there's no way he can grow a beard like my man Kyle Orton! And he's not as fast as Orton is either!! NeckBeardRules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
