Forte returns to practice on limited basis

Matt Forte returned to practice Friday afternoon in the Walter Payton Center, eight days after he injured his right toe against New Orleans.

The Bears have listed him as questionable for Monday's game with Green Bay and he is expected to start. Given the club's reluctance to use other running backs all season, in fact, it would be quite a surprise if the rookie running back does not play unless there is a setback at Saturday's practice.

Wide receiver Marty Booker (rib) also practiced on a limited basis and should be available for duty Monday.

Fullback Jason McKie (quad) has been ruled out and defensive tackle Tommie Harris, as usual, is probable.

The Bears are in serious trouble if Forte cannot play. Perhaps Jones could come in and help if he had a superb game, but in all, contolling the clock is crucial in this game, and if Forte is out, that would be tough to do.

I think the key will be to watch and see if Jones is on the active game roster. He's been inactive several times this season, because of Peterson's value on special teams. Even if Forte does play, I'd like to see him splitting carries, especially if we are up by more than a score. I don't want to see Forte go the way of Johnson, Alexander, Tomlinson, and others that saw their production decline significantly after a couple of high workload seasons.

Im glad to see the Bears are letting Forte rest up, it also helps with the long period between games, going from thursday of last week, to monday night. I think Forte should be alright, I would still spell him more than they usually do, especially with the bum toe.

Adrian Peterson can do the job for the Bears as their number 2 runner, Peterson has 81 yds on 15 carrise for a 5.4 yd average this season. Also, late last season Peterson proved he can come in and do the job. I like Kevin Jones also, I just think it was a lot more than Petersons ability to play special teams that kept him out for most of the season. I think Jones came back to soon from the knee injury, probably out of desperation, this is probably Jones last shot to prove himself. Another reason I think Jones came back to soon, when Jones did come in, he was ineffective with 34 carries for 109 yds with a 3.4 yd average. Jones did look good on special team the other night, so maybe he is fully recovered from the knee injury, it would really help the Bears if he was GO BEARS!!
