Running back Pope to go

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Running back P.J. Pope has been told he will be released.

The writing was on the wall for him as it looks almost certain the team will keep four running backs--Matt Forte, Adrian Peterson, Garrett Wolfe and Kevin Jones.

There may not be too many other cuts today. The Bears could be dividing the 22 cuts between today and Saturday.

Obviously, punter Zac Atterberry is expected to be released. Long snapper Thomas Gafford is also expected to go with Pat Mannelly coming back for the regular season. Gafford could draw interest immediately from Green Bay and Seattle.
