Chester Adams got some good news.
It might not be the kind of news to keep him on the roster, but it's encouraging in the sense that the seventh-round pick from Georgia didn't look to be in a good way Thursday night as he left Cleveland Browns Stadium with his left leg in a brace and on crutches.
Adams suffered only a sprained MCL to his left knee. He's seeking a second medical opinion on the injury, but barring something unexpected, his recovery time could be in the range of six weeks or so.
How this impacts his position on the roster right now is unknown. The Bears could potentially place him on injured reserve. They could reach an injury settlement with him. They could look toward a way of adding him to the practice squad down the line. There aren't any clear answers at this point, but it's a pretty safe bet he will not be on the 53-man roster.
