DE Anderson undergoes thumb surgery

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Defensive end Mark Anderson has undergone minor surgery to repair his injured right thumb, coach Lovie Smith said. Anderson is out for Thursday's game vs. San Francisco and Smith didn't provide a timeline for a return, but tried to emphasize it was a minor procedure.

Long snapper Pat Mannelly (stinger), linebacker Nick Roach (concussion) and tight end Desmond Clark (right knee) are also out for the game. The Bears have signed journeyman long snapper Thomas Gafford, who lost out in a competition for a job in Green Bay earlier this summer.

More news later this afternoon.
