Rookie tight end released to make room for Hester

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

To clear room for Devin Hester on the 80-man roster (he was on the reserve-did not report list), tight end Marcus Stone was placed on waivers, his agent John Owens said. The undrafted rookie from North Carolina State has 24 hours to clear. That leaves the Bears with four tight ends on the roster--veterans Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen, second-year player Fontel Mines and rookie fifth-round pick Kellen Davis.

What are your fondest memories of the Marcus Stone Era?

I used to love the way Marcus would bring out those freshly dried laundry towels to everyone in practice. You could just tell by his towel tossing ability that this guy has awesome instincts and will have a long career in the NFL! Thanks Marcus we will miss you!

I think mine is probably when he pulled out that glockenspeil and just jammed with it for 40 or 50 minutes. That dude can play.
