i m glad hes gone, 6 years for who knows how much, probably 15 guaranteed! lol.... hes going to drop passes for minnesota, but wait, he cant drop any because they run 70 % of the time and the other 30% only 10% are completions, berrian at the end of 08 will have 60 rec 850 yds 3td

No big deal. He didn't deserve to be paid like a number 1 anyway. Now the Bears can spend wisely and get more bang for buck. However, they better not go out and sign some journey man reciever.

All I can say to this news is: I wonder how well Bernie will do against the Bears D when, hopefully, the interceptions begin against him.

Another player we grow and invest time in leaves once they hit their prime. This is 'un-bear-able' to have one of our guys in Purple...where we'll see him twice a year. Nobody (with any name) wants to come to Chicago...hmmmm

The Bears are chep.

You all are just jealous ;). Welcome to Minnesota Bernard! Here's to a long 6 year relationship.

Go Vikes

Bears are fine...they have Rex

Sour grapes dudes! This will help the Vikings more than anything else they could have done. It will take some presure of the young QB by giving him a legit reciever and it will take presure of Adrian Peterson, as team won't be able to play goal-line defense at midfield and put 9 in the box. The Vikings surely overpaid, but no one could have made more of an impact the Berrien!

Now as for the Bears, you must be excited about Grossman and Orton (LOL) passing to ... who? And let's be honest, you don't have a running game either. Perhaps the Bears should punt on first down and just play defense as the defense would probably score more points that that offense.

rex haha; glad berrian's gone; haha whatever be seeing ya bears in the rear view mirror............weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

You guys would rip Tom Brady if he was a Bear and left. You idiots just lost your best receiver and still say he sucks. Unbelievable!

My God. I honestly believed that Bernard Berrian was the last best hope for the Bears offense to shine. I've always considered Jay Marriotti as the kind of 'glass is half-empty' pessimist that was not always needed in Chicago. But, after today I am inclined to agree with him. The Super Bowl era has ended. The Bears must get a number of wide outs before summer camp, but I don't see anyone out there who is explosive enough to help move this team back into the light. Mr. Marriotti predicted another 7-9 season. I predict a season with an thunderous defense reinforced by a healed Urlacher, Mike Brown, Harris, Dusty, and Vasher and a wholly lackluster offense having no improvement on the ground and hot having the depth at reciever needed to make a Grossman look palatable. I say 5-11.

YA SURE TROY WILLIAMSON WAS A BUST BUT WAIT............................WHAT HAS CEDRIC BENSON DONE FOR THE BEARS??????? O WAIT.....WELL HES SUCKED THATS ONE THING!

Enjoy Berrian Vikings fans. Paying whatever you did for a so-so receiver who can't block will make you pull your hair out later. ANd Bears fans, calm down. We have Mark Bradley who was the STARTER before he got injured. He's a good receiver with good speed just bad luck in the last few years. I'm going to say we need a big Moose like receiver, but we do have CLark and Olsen who can step into that role anyhow. How about a lot of two tight end formations next season with Bradley, Hester and/or Rashied. We're fine. No to mention that Garrett Wolfe has excellent hands and quickness and could be used in the slot like Wes Welker.

YOU BEARS FANS ARE THE SOREST LOSERS EVER!!!!!!! NO MATTER WHO YOU LOSE, "ITS NO BIG DEAL". WELL I GOT NEWS FOR YOU IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!!! DEVIN HESTER CANT DO IT ALL!!!!!!!!!

WHY NO POSTS BEARS FANS! CAUSE YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!?!??!?!?!?

well vikings over paid, but they had to do what they had to do...number one reciever for them instantly...and with their running game how they ran over us...Berrian is a great fit for MN get that 9th man out of the box for AP to rip it up and every once in a while drop one deep to berrian...VIkes pack on top as always...bears and lions on bottom

How many guys in the NFL had 900+ yards receiving…not to mention are free agents? Not many! Hats off to the Vikings for grabbing this guy. Shame on us for letting another player, getting into their prime, leave. We just lost our only true threat on offense. We (us Bear fans) can try and say “Who cares…he dropped X number of passes…thank goodness you are gone”… Why would ESPN rate him as the #2 Wide Receiver Free Agent in the league? Are we smarter then they are or just naive? I vote for the second choice.

berrian is a good receiver. but please.........$42 million??????
1st he's not a #1 receiver (hands down), 2nd he has absolutely no bloking ability, 3rd if ur getting paid that kind of money, u better go down the middle (which i don't think he's ever done in his career), 4th catch the damn ball. look at berrian's stats, he's an above average receiver w/ speed. i hate to loose guys we drafted.....but....... all u viking fans will quickly understand sooner or later that u guys WAY WAY WAY OVERPAID!!! you'll see. that's a promise.

Thus begins the great Bear exodus. Very soon our beloved football franchise will begin looking like it's old 1990's self again, just not having quite enough talent to enjoy a post-season appearance.

Welcome to the Vikes Berrian. We love to have ya... Just when we go to do that hand off to AP....woooooooooops downtown to Berrian. The Moss/Smith days are back...
