Report: Bills' opening won't go to Gabriel

| 3 Comments | No TrackBacks

Len Pasquarelli of espn.com is reporting that the Buffalo Bills will make a promotion from within to fill the general manager position vacated by Mary Levy, who retired following the season.

That means Bears college scouting director Greg Gabriel will not be leaving to return home, a fit the Buffalo News reasoned would be natural.

According to Pasquarelli, Buffalo is expected to promote executive vice president of business operations Russ Brandon next week.

It’s not known if Gabriel ever received serious consideration for the job from Buffalo owner Ralph Wilson. The Buffalo News reported after the retirement of the Hall of Famer Levy that the organization had gone outside to hire a GM only once in 47 years.

I would like to start a campaign that the Bears should move Mark Anderson to LB like Greg Ellis.

i'd like to start a campaign where herb doesn't make any more comments. the bears run a 4-3, the cowboys run a 3-4. carry on.

A few years ago I'd have to pay someone for this infromtaion.
